Teaching Background & Experience:
I’ve been in the fitness industry for more than 20 years, seeing a lot of trends come and go. What keeps me in the industry is that no matter what the workout du jour is, our collective knowledge of wellness is always increasing. I started teaching group exercise in the U.S. when I was at university studying Exercise Physiology & Kinesiology. Through the years, I have taught almost everything (with the exception of yoga) in private corporate fitness settings, boutique studios, and gyms, all over the U.S. and in London. My years of fitness experience and working with clients have definitely helped me succeed in other areas of my life. As for Lagree, like many of the trainers, it was love at first, “4-3-2-1.” I had been aware of the method before moving to London and was surprised not to find it here when I moved from the U.S. in 2013. When I learned the studio was opening and recruiting instructors, I jumped in!
Why I Love Lagree and What to Expect from My Classes:
I love how intense and challenging this method is, without any impact on our clients’ joints. To a person, our clients are super strong, so our role is to meet each one at the edge of their abilities and offer the right amount of new challenge that they progress with every class. What makes being a trainer so great is that you get to know people over months and years and see what they can accomplish. It also means as trainers, we have to stay creative so we’re designing classes, which meet and further develop our clients’ abilities. I love that I get to be part of our clients’ journey and I love the challenge of designing classes that keep them going deeper and slower. Let’s face it, all our goals are on the other side of uncomfortable. My classes are where you make those goals reality, so the class gets pretty challenging pretty quickly. I bring my mix of Tupac and Deepak energy, the occasional curse word, an iced coffee and years of experience in the fitness industry to make sure your class experience has you leaving the studio feeling stronger, clear-headed, and more bad-ass.
